How do I run Frets on Fire on a computer running window Vista?

I enjoy played this game at a friends house and have tons of fun with it. The problem is when I turn to run the program on my computer I get central lag issue which can really ruin the spectator sport. I am running on 1GB of RAM with plenty of tricky drive space. I also have one of the most up-to-date ATI Radeon graphics cards.

How do I run Frets on Fire on a computer running window Vista?

I don't know what to tell you. I enjoy frets on fire and it worked beside xp, but when I got vista I get the same problem. The nouns runs faster than the video, which is very choppy.
