How do you swap out a processor chip?

I hold a 478 socket and am trying to switch it out with another 478 socket.

How do you swap out a processor chip?

the documentation for your mobo shows you how the artistic chip was installed.

if you don't own the documentation, the mobo maker's web site have it online.

if you don't know the mobo maker and model number, run the DxDiag program from the command string -- it'll usually find it for you.

the new chip should come next to install instructions -- once you have the mobo maker's instructions, you can see if and how they are different. Then you merely undo the one and do the other.
