How do you start a p.c. running window ME contained by undisruptive mode?

assuming you can, my sons computer freezes up an wont finish a disk check, and it wont defrag,it say i need to run disk check first to fix some errors(along next to some other crap i was hoping a disk check might fix...)

How do you start a p.c. running window ME contained by undisruptive mode?

Try hitting F8 when the electrical device is booting.

If it doesn't work, then try 'shift' and F8 when the domestic device is booting.
Windows ME is a really troubled OS. That being said, to boot within safe mode, I'm pretty sure you can a short time ago make a boot disk. That will offer you the option, I'm truthfully sure.
Hitting F5 or F8 (I can't remember which one exactly) when your PC boots before it enter Windows should bring up a menu that allows you to select start in nontoxic mode. Also, it kind of sounds approaching your hard drive may be failing. Might wanna look into getting a alien hard drive.
