How do I know what quality of RAM I call for if im buying from ebay?

Check the satchel of your motherboard and it should say at hand
open the overnight case of your computer, and see if it's SD, DDR or DDR2 RAM.
I would just clear up the computer and look at the RAM. Usually on there is a sticker beside the ram type. You can also look for your motherboard on the manuafacturer website (dell tend to list here motherboard types on their site) and see which types are compatible. Then simply search for DDR *insert speed here* bump
read your machine's (or motherboard's) documentation, or contact your vendor and ask them.
use www.crucial.com's free checker to bring up to date you what sort of RA you've got.
Use a program close to Sandra or Hwinfo which tells you adjectives the information about your hardware in need opening the suitcase.

Yo, the easiest way to do this lacking opening your computer and getting to exact is to ...

#1 Find out the make and model of your laptop, for example:

Is it an HP, Dell, Emachine?

Whats its make and model?

Dell Dimension 4600 is an example... you should be capable of find this info by looking on the front of your pc.

#2 Go to http://www.crucial.com

Right on the front of that page, select what brand computer you hold, then its net and model, then it will show you the exact type and nickname of ram you should receive...

(Dont buy ram from that site because they charge to much for it, basically use it to see what you need).
