My disc drive wasn't working so I uninstalled it. I shut the computer down, restarted it, but Windows doesn't try to reinstall it and now it doesn't work. What am I supposed to do?
How do I reinstall my disc drive? Windows XP?
Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add Hardware and use the hardware wizard.
It should automatically detect it, if the drive is still flawless
Id go to start, paraphernalia, system tools, system restore and try going back a year or two when it worked. Might work.
do you have more than one cd drive? Otherwise your laptop won't find the new hardware.delete adjectives the cd drives.
