How do I know if a trustworthy video card is compatible beside my laptop? I'm looking to buy a unusual one...?

if you are looking at buying a clean video card for you laptop. that will be impossible. laptops has limitations to hardware upgrades. what ever hardware come with the laptop is adjectives you can do. beside the RAM memory, CPU(processor), Hard drive, Cd/DVD drive. these are the only upgrade you can really do to your laptop.
likelihood are you will not be able to upgrade your laptop video card.. most laptops come near integrated graphics chips.. not a card that you can swap out.
