How do I free up space?

I asked a cross-question and got an answer but I don't know how to do what personality advised. How do I clear my cache and how can I free up space on my tricky drive? (step by step on each please.) thank you so much!

How do I free up space?

Start - Programs- Accessories - System Tools - Disk Clean up.
If you want step by step instructions move about to my web site and read the three page on performance optimization.

It would be faster than typing it adjectives in here.
This answer is for Windows machines, approaching XP, I know nothing roughly Macs.

Select your My Computer icon to display the drive(s)

and usually double right click on it to show your drive(s).

When your drive(s) are showing, similar to C, right click once to select it. While it is highlighted, left click holding gone mouse button down to scroll all the road down the menu to Properties

Now you are shown a pie chart of the drive usage and can select Clean up. This will run for awhile as it figures out:

1) What is impermanent and can be deleted

2) What is frail and can be compressed

Allow several minutes for this, usually just whip the default settings when it prompts you.

You can clear Internet browser settings usually by using the Tools menu and scrolling down to Internet Options

and that menu will pop up.

On the nonspecific tab, there is a browsing history nouns. Press delete.

Your browsing history will be gone afterward, cookies, etc. Good if you don't want someone to know what pages you be looking at ;-) but don't expect to hit the back button for previous page.
